Interview with Samir Abdelkrim, a modern explorer, he has traveled across Africa and Asia to discover foreign innovations. He writes all of his stories on his famous blog, startupBRICS.

Hey Samir, can you tell me more about yourself, your job and StartupBRICS?

Hi, my name is Samir Abdelkrim. I’m passionate about traveling, innovation and entrepreneurship. When StartupBRICS began it was just a blog, although as time passed it has become more of startup since we’re on a constant search for a business model. StartupBRICS consists of three components: editorial, consulting and “Blog Tank,” which is somewhat similar to a think tank.

Our mission is to identify emerging markets and propose a plan that will highlight their potential so we can better connect them with startups and tech companies in France.

When and in what context of work do you need to give presentations?

Very often! Especially when we travel abroad. People often want to know about the most remarkable startups we encounter in Africa and we share our knowledge with them. We also give presentations during meetups and conferences, such as ASPEN or the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2014 in Marrakesh, where we speak about African innovations.

When you create presentations, what‘s most important for you? What do you present?

We usually present examples of startups, major trends, snapshots of the life at incubators or our working space. When we present, we’re like reporters, presenting much more than just graphs and numbers. We make sure to include photos and testimonials (with Bobler and Twitter) because we believe those are important information that will enrich our presentations.

How do you use Bunkr? Why do you prefer Bunkr rather than the other presentation tools available?

Bunkr’s presentations are clean, beautiful and simple. Knowing that they remain online, with a customizable URL, makes life so much easier…and it also allows me to be much less dependent on USB drives.

How and where do you use Bunkr?

Mainly on my computer computer but the idea being able to check my presentation on a mobile device before a meeting seems great. Kind of like Evernote, but, with images.

Which applications do you use at work on a daily basis?

Mostly Evernote as a reminder and especially as a way to never forget an idea, especially at night or right in the morning…I write them all! I use Google Drive and way too many social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, as well.

What are some ideas you would like Bunkr to implement in the future?

It’d be great if I could integrate Google Drive, Bobler, YouTube videos and GIF’s into my Bunkr presentations.
