The basic premise of the book is that our routine, or lack of one, plays a huge role in our ability to be successful.

Creativity Needs a Framework

Daily practice is vital. We overestimate what we can accomplish in a short amount of time and underestimate what we can accomplish in a long amount of time. This is why we always want quick solutions to everything.

Creative work needs to be prioritized first, and reactive work second. Often times, our default is letting others dictate the priorities for us.

Frequency creates momentum, fosters more creativity, and increases productivity. All of this comes from daily practice at mastering one’s craft.

Renewal

Demand exceeds capacity in digital age, and connectivity makes us reactive to inboxes and alerts.

Develop focus time to be able to reflect, and let ideas in your head marinate.

Revisit Important But Not Urgent Tasks

We have blurred the line between urgent and non-urgent due to nature of digital communication.

The important but not urgent tasks is where success lies, and where we get the most return, but you have to work on it daily and play the long game.
