Ready, Set, Roar! Onboarding activities already set to welcome UST’s newest tigers

Brace your tiger spirits as we count down to the much-anticipated ROARientation held back in person for the first time in three years! But first, ready your roars and familiarize yourself with the plethora of exciting activities awaiting you this Onboarding Week 2022 together with UST Tiger TV and UST Tiger Radio from August 3 to 9.
With the theme “Unearthing the Treasure”, Onboarding Season 2022 will start off with ‘Tatak Tomasino’, a three-episode special showcasing the history, tradition, and culture of the University of Santo Tomas, which will be aired on UST Tiger TV’s Facebook page on August 3, 5, and 7, respectively. This is a must-watch for all freshman Tomasinos as the 2022 ROARientation’s streak segment shall base its questions on the said series.
A virtual orientation that will introduce the University’s services will also commence on August 5, Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Meanwhile, the most awaited ROARientation will be held onsite together with the traditional Thomasian Welcome Walk with the theme “A Walk to Treasure” on August 9. Both events will also be livestreamed on the same day via the official Facebook pages of UST and UST Tiger TV.
This year’s ROARientation will be held in the Quadricentennial Pavilion (QPav) in two batches: one that will start at 9:00 am and the other at 3:00 pm. It is expected to be jam-packed with various entertaining, yet insightful segments including an opening number, interactive games, live performances, and the batch dance. Exclusive prizes also await the freshies in the games and challenge segments.
Moreover, booths with corresponding gimmicks hosted by the Tiger Media Network (TMN) will also be around the QPav. These booths include the Tiger Radio Booth, Tiger TV Booth, and Website Booth, where freshies are to experience being one of TMN’s broadcasters, hosts, and creators, as well as the Photo Booth where they can take photo souvenirs.
Consequently, morning ROARientation batches will have their Welcome Walk at 11:00 am and the afternoon batches at 5:00 pm.
The Welcome Walk is one of the University’s annual traditions where respective colleges and faculties enter the Arch of the Centuries signifying the beginning of their Thomasian journey.
Also to be held on August 9 at 6:00 pm is the unveiling of the new UST block letters and tiger statue at the UST Plaza Mayor. Likewise, the ceremony will be aired on the official Facebook pages of UST and UST Tiger TV.
Regular classes will begin on August 9 and similar Welcome Walks are also anticipated to be held for the sophomores and juniors in the third week of August.
