The US women’s national team had a game on October 3rd against South Korea. They played a 4–3–3 formation and of course Ashlyn Harris in goal. The two wide defenders were Emily Sonnet and Crystal Dunn, the two center defenders were Abby Dahlkemper and Becky Sauerbrunn. The one center midfielders were Julie Ertz and the two wing midfielders were Rose Lavelle and Allie Long. The center forward was Carli Lloyd, the two wing forwards were Mallory Pugh and Megan Rapinoe. South Korea played a 4–4–1–1. From personal experience out of the 2 formations I would play the US formation, because it makes it easier to connect through the middle to make plays. The outcome of this formation was 2–0 US. The first goal was scored by Allie Long in the 45+3 minutes before half-time. The second goal was scored by Mallory Pugh in the 76 minute. Most of the possession was by the US, but South Korea also had a a lot of possession through out the game. The percentage was 52% to 48%. South Korea had a yellow card by Ji So-yun. The US womens team plays very physical and when they have the chance to shoot they will take it. They run through 50 50 balls and won’t give up on the ball even if they lose it. The numbers of shots taken and shots on goal were very high for the US vs South Korea. It was 19 shots and 7 on target and for South Korea it was 6 shots and 3 on target. Overall the US women soccer team was the better team.
