If you’ve ever tried to pay attention to utility news, you probably discovered what most people do: it’s absurd. News is filled with terms of art, engineers spouting off about seemingly contradictory things, and through it all runs a vague sensation of either “spirited innovation” or “corporate hegemony”(depending on the author, and your point of view).

Here we attempt to have real conversations about utilities, especially water and electricity. We believe in thorough research, but also in effectively talking about them, and we aren’t going to be afraid to spend as much time as necessary to make sure that something makes sense.

We aren’t always engineers, or policy experts, or politicians (although we might be). We *are* passionate people who are dedicated to providing reliable and understandable information about utilities.
