You know what time it is.

But first, a new video from the Disney Channel Circle of Stars, featuring some of the teen stars that made Disney Channel the greatest network of our childhood lives.

I sound like an old lady when I talk about how “kids these days” will never know how great the Disney Channel was. Nearly half my life was spent watching it! For those who grew up in the 90s, it’s like we grew up with Hillary Duff in Lizzie McGuire, Raven-Symoné and them in That’s So Raven, and Shia Labeouf on Even Stevens (and that Disney Channel Original Movie where he played a character with autism, and we were all like “whoa.”)

The block was hot over on Disney Channel.

The channel reached new heights when it introduced the musical side of some of its staple actors with specially made albums, and formed its all-star group: Disney Channel Circle of Stars. Let’s be honest, a couple of those actors probably couldn’t hold a note on their own. But together, remixing classic Disney songs, they sounded as one substantially talented, tween-y voice. It was the pop group we never knew we needed.

And what do these sweet 2000s Disney Channel stars sound like on one track? Look no further than the second single from the Circle of Stars, their remix of the staple Cinderella song, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”

The updated production still holds the original song’s sweet feeling through an up-tempo pop beat, but now with different chord changes and style breakdowns, making it feel both exciting and grand.

Taking place post-The Cheetah Girls, Raven Beyoncé’s the heck out of this track on lead vocals. She riffs and adds all kinds of colorful notes, when possible. Other actresses, like Aly Michalka from Phil of the Future and The Proud Family’s Kyla Pratt, provide supporting vocals; while Ricky Ullman, “Phil” of Phil of the Future, and little Dylan & Cole Sprouse from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody add a tinge of… let’s say “baby rock,” with their youthful sing-shouting. It’s a beautiful mess.

Because I’m a sucker for dreams and throwbacks, my guilty pleasure comes from this song popping up when I put a playlist on shuffle and not being ashamed to let it ride and jam out. The Disney Channel knew what it was doing back in those days. My childhood, and current adulthood, is forever appreciative.
