Bold Statement: Don’t sleep on Kanye. The Chicago icon is poised for monumental return.

Kanye West has been an enigma over the past decade or so, and that’s putting it lightly. With his outlandish statements, support of President Trump, and mental breakdown that resulted in hospitalization, the hip-hop community has taken notice.

‘Ye has been called out by a bunch of big-name artists in the past year or so. To name a few: J. Cole in “Everybody Dies” & “False Prophets,” Jay-Z in “Kill Jay-Z,” & Logic in “America.”

Now, I’m a full-fledged endorser of all these artists’ jabs at Kanye. I believe each one of these heavyweights in the rap industry did a great job of making their point about Mr. West.

However….

This begs the question of what will happen next for Mr. West? I think whatever he is recording up in the mountains of Wyoming will be some of his greatest works to date. This wouldn’t be the first time Yeezy took a step back from the limelight. Kanye secluded himself in Hawaii while recording, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy — Complex called it “hip-hop’s first fantasy camp,” where artists would visit Kanye and reach new levels of creativity and expression.

Comeback Kanye is on the horizon.

You can smell it in the air. For America’s sake, I really hope so. If I know one thing about Kanye, these jabs are not falling on deaf ears. These hits from mentors and rappers he paved the way for may very well push Kanye back to his old self; the Chicago native, Teddy Bear, College Dropout and Graduation version of Kanye. Not this Kardashian-washed, mentally unstable, Fugazi Picasso, byproduct of Hollywood version of Kanye.

Kanye’s previous works have come at crucial junctures of his life. Whether it was his VMA stunt with Taylor Swift, or “Through the Wire” after his car accident…. mark my words: Yeezy Season Is Coming.
