The December edition of Crypto Coffee has come and gone, and once again wonderful pearls of wisdom were to be found on our @Utrust Twitter feed. Here’s our written recap of the event, and we heartily recommend you start it off by following us on Twitter, if you haven’t done so yet, where you can keep up with these conversations as they happen, and participate as well.

We were joined this time round by Nikil Viswanathan (@Nikilster), the co-founder and CEO of Alchemy, and our very own COO, Rodrigo Russell (@RodrigoPRussell). The conversation was sparkling, and there were several worthwhile contributions from the lovely community that Utrust has built around itself.

So, let’s get started:

#cryptocoffee Q1:

Rodrigo and Nikil gave us a short glimpse into their world, as they typed from either our Utrust offices in Braga, Portugal or, in Nikil’s case, the back of a Lyft in San Francisco. Several of our friends and followers chimed in, and were welcomed by Rodrigo. Now we’re ready to get into things.

#cryptocoffee Q2:

Here is where we learn a bit about our two contributors. In their own style, each tell you the story of how they got into this technology. There’s a strong sense of inspiration and vision. Both have decided to embrace these challenges because they saw the transformative power of this technology, even giving up on more secure and comfortable projects. As you read through their answers you find the spark that powers the blockchain revolution. The vision that’s behind it by people who saw what the future could be and decided to risk everything to build it.

#cryptocoffee Q3:

This is one of the most fraught topics of the blockchain discussion. People often disagree on how fast, or how deeply adoption is going to happen, and they most certainly have very different visions of what that will look like across industries. Nikil and Rodrigo’s visions are certainly compatible: As long as it’s online, blockchain will get there, sooner or later.

#cryptocoffee Q4:

This was one of the most interesting questions of the whole session, because of how different the answers were, including those from the people listening in. Rodrigo focused on the governance issue, and on what he feels is an absolute necessity: keeping blockchain free. Nikil focused on something entirely different, and something Alchemy is tackling head on: the technical difficulty of building solutions using blockchain.

#cryptocoffee Q5:

For this question, both of our speakers offered small lists of fantastic projects that they both feel are moving things along, whether they come from monsters of the finance industry or small startups just cutting their teeth. You should check out every single one of them. It is really interesting to see the crypto ecosystem being populated by such tremendous developments.

#cryptocoffee Q6:

Ah, the future. It’s so terribly exciting when you’re working with blockchain and crypto. So it should surprise absolutely no one that both our speakers and some of our friends following the conversation at home should see some really exciting things happening.

#cryptocoffee Q7:

The answer to this question was the most resounding yes we got all afternoon. Whether you’re waiting for government-sponsored solutions or you think adoption is coming either way, crypto people are true believers.

#cryptocoffee Q8:

Here you can see how both our speakers have seamlessly integrated digital currencies into their day-to-day lives. They’re paying for gaming, Christmas gifts, travel… This is one of the most important stepping stones towards adoption: being able to use these currencies to pay for the things you want and need. Really heartening stuff.

#cryptocoffee Q9:

This question came with a wink emoji because both speakers are partners in the exact context described. Naturally they spoke about their partnership, and the insights that we got showed us exactly why Crypto Coffee exists: sharing knowledge.

#cryptocoffee Q10:

The last answers are a veritable treasure mine of information. Make sure to follow the @s suggested and keep up with their work. These are the companies that will shape the future of blockchain and crypto in 2020.

And that’s a wrap!

Crypto Coffee December edition was deep, interesting and revelatory about the inner workings of two industry captains, and we really do hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

The Crypto Coffee may be over, but the conversation never stops, so if you have anything to add, any questions, any issues you’d like to see us discuss in the following editions, or, really, if you just want to say hi, please don’t be a stranger. Drop us a line.

In the meantime, we bid you adieu, and we look forward to having a cup of coffee with you next time 🙃
