The Alliance for Prosperity is a new force for good in our galaxy, as it seeks to harness the power of blockchain and digital currencies to promote financial inclusion. We at Utrust have always made the community a key part of our mission, so we couldn’t be happier to be a part of this project from its very beginning. We want to democratize payments with every transaction, and we want to do it by leading the world to digital currencies adoption. This partnership will be a massive step in the right direction.
The Alliance for Prosperity is a network of like-minded people
As opposed to other projects with similar goals, the Alliance for Prosperity is decentralized and doesn’t have a governing body. It’s a network of organizations, quite diverse for that matter, that are all vying for the same goals. It includes leading technology providers, nonprofits, mobile wallets, payment processors, and global investment firms. We are mission-aligned, but every one of us is autonomous and has the independence to pursue our common goals in our own way.
Empowering people to use digital currencies
The goal of the alliance is very simple, and very complicated. We are committed to financial inclusion and creating prosperity for the world. We have joined up with the Celo Foundation, who took the initiative, to use their decentralized platform, Celo, and their stablecoin, the Celo Dollar, to help and support communities everywhere. Celo is mobile-first, it is open, and it is easy-to-use. Every organization that is a part of the Alliance is free to integrate Celo and Celo Dollars in their work and to develop whichever apps and initiatives it sees fit to increase its reach and its usability. There are 5.6 billion smartphones in the world, and we want every single person with access to one using this technology.
We will be doing a host of different things
Since the Alliance is composed of such diverse organizations (we’ll get to that), we will also be doing many different things. Use cases will vary widely, including wallets and exchanges, tools for validators and developers, education and microwages. Our goal is to provide on-ramps that will power mobile and online work, enable faster and affordable remittances, reduce the operational complexities of delivering humanitarian aid, facilitate payments, and enable microlending. We will be working with underserved communities and geographies, trying to empower as many people as possible. Every use case addresses a real need that real people face by providing a real solution. As long as you have a phone, we want you to have access to the financial services you need.
There are fifty members in the Alliance right now
The Alliance for Prosperity is global, and our reach is in the hundreds of millions. We include nonprofits, fintech companies and organizations that do humanitarian aid.
