Come BUIDL with us!

Hello UTU Trust Guardians!

We have always been intrinsically motivated by the prospect of collaboratively building the trust infrastructure of Web 3 with our global community of Trust Guardians. Toward this end, we are excited to announce the launch of the highly-anticipated UTU Trust API/SDK docs, opening up the power of UTU protocol, our Trust API and SDK to every App, dapp, and web developer on the planet! After months of dedicated work, we are thrilled to make these comprehensive resources available to the community. This significant milestone represents the fulfillment of three crucial tasks on our roadmap, bringing us closer to our ultimate goal of being the trust infrastructure of the internet, starting with web3.

Let’s explore what the UTU Trust API/SDK is, resources available to devs and how to build with us.

What is the UTU Trust API/SDK

In the nascent web3 world, trust is a critical factor that determines the success of any decentralized system. Without trust, users are hesitant to engage with new platforms and dapps, limiting the potential of the blockchain revolution. Will that dapp you just discovered drain your wallet? Is that the real project website? So many questions, so many ways to try to answer them. The UTU Trust API/SDK exists to provide developers with the tools they need to build trust into their applications.

With the UTU Trust API/SDK, developers can enhance the trustworthiness of their platforms, allowing web3 users to review and endorse on-chain dapps and websites as they interact on the web. Users can also see feedback and endorsements of sites and dapps from their personal networks just as they’re about to decide if they want to interact with them or not. Reviews include quick video stories, star ratings, badges, and text reviews, as well as endorsements with the user’s reputation, measured in UTU Trust Tokens (UTT).

The UTU Trust API/SDK comes with a range of features and benefits that make it a valuable tool for developers. It offers seamless integration with existing decentralized applications, making it easy for developers to incorporate trust mechanisms into their platforms. With just a few lines of code, developers can access the full power of the UTU Trust API/SDK and enable users to benefit from UTU’s decentralized reputation and reviews system.

With the UTU Trust API/SDK docs, you will gain access to a wealth of information, tutorials, and examples that will guide you through the process of incorporating trust-based functionalities into your project. Whether it’s building trust and reputation mechanisms for user reviews, facilitating trustworthy transactions, or enhancing security measures, the possibilities are endless.

Real-world examples of successful UTU Trust API/SDK integrations

To demonstrate the power of the UTU Trust API/SDK, let’s take a look at some real-world examples of successful integrations, already in action and some on the roadmap:

  • Browsing the Web: UTU’s Trust Extension for your browser enables people to leave and view feedback from their network about any domain on the internet and soon any uniquely identifiable asset such as subdomains, blockchain addresses, and platform handles.
  • Ride-hailing: A ride-hailing service, MaraMoja integrated the UTU Trust API/SDK to recommend trusted drivers from social circles analyzed from permissioned social media data. This increased trust among riders and drivers, resulting in more rides and customer satisfaction.
  • Real-World DeFi: The Africa DeFi Alliance pilots used the UTU Creditworthiness/ Borrowing Power APIs to build a reputation system for borrowers to access on-chain liquidity pools. This reduced the risk of default and attracted more lenders to the pool, leading to increased access to finance for 1,500 Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Entrepreneurs in Kenya and Rwanda. We’ll connect the UTU Trust API to the Creditworthiness and Borrowing Power APIs in the future to drive down risk and rates even further.

Beyond these implementations, UTU has partnerships with platforms of all types from travel booking, eCommerce, and other types of marketplaces for real-world and digital goods and services, to exchanges, to wallets, and DeFi platforms. These examples highlight the versatility and effectiveness of the UTU Trust API/SDK in various industries and use cases. No matter what type of dapp you’re building, the UTU Trust API/SDK can play a crucial role in enhancing trust and driving success. The UTU Trust API/SDI can provide better trust for your users as they consider connecting to your dapp; sending, swapping, or staking tokens; or borrowing from your pool.
