UTU collaborates with Hacken to bring Trust Oracles to the entire crypto ecosystem
Dear UTU Guardians of Trust!
When we set out to build a trust infrastructure we knew we needed the best auditor to keep an eye on our smart contracts. Hacken gave a very compelling pitch and assured us that if they did the audit, there would be no security issues or funds lost for our users.
UTU offers AI-powered decentralized Trust Infrastructure as a Service to serve socially powered recommendations and provide a robust feedback mechanism via API and Oracle to B2B and P2P platforms. Our protocol layer also tokenizes trust in our effort to tackle the economic incentives around better digital trust as our AI solves for better theory and mechanism to deliver that trust. Our Trust Infrastructure has been deployed in mobility markets across Africa with more being rolled out imminently. UTU has a number of implementations beyond transportation including P2P Lending Centralized Lending, Remote Working, Agricultural Markets & Pandemic Contact Tracing.
UTU’s core innovations are in the fields of trust as a service, utilizing distributed AI and machine learning, to build individualized, contextually aware models of human trust. We serve up this intelligence as Trust Infrastructure as a Service (TIaaS) to mobile/online platforms and marketplaces around the world whose users face any type of risk in their transactions — emotional risk, financial risk, business risk, or personal/physical risk. UTU’s trust infrastructure helps reduce user fear and risk to drive user value and platform metrics. We also run a subsidiary mobility franchise network with our trust infrastructure baked into it.

At UTU we believe in a more human-friendly internet. We are pioneering digital models of decentralized trust built around human beings and how we naturally trust. UTU’s vision is to become the trust infrastructure of the entire internet, replacing anonymous star ratings, reviews, and scores as the de facto trust mechanisms of our digital lives. We do this in service of our Mission — To bridge the gap between how we trust in real life and how we are asked to trust online — to make the internet a safer, more trusted place to gather, share, work, and trade.
UTU is kiswahili for “Humanity.” It reminds us of our home in Kenya and for whom we build this project. We currently have a team of 40 at our HQ in Nairobi and R&D collaborations with the Agents, Interactions, and Complexity Group at the University of Southampton in the UK as well as the newly established UKRI Trusted Autonomous Systems Hub.
UTU and our subsidiaries have been featured variously in international media, including Pitchbook, NPR, TechCrunch, Analytics India, Aithority, Disrupt Africa, How We Made it in Africa, and others. We won the 2019 East Africa Regional Championship of the Pegasus Tech Ventures Startup World Cup and have been named a 2020 Hello Tomorrow Deep Tech Pioneer.
