Introduction

The phoenix is a mythical bird that has been a part of the mythology of many cultures, including ancient Greece, Egypt, and Persia.

In addition to these cultures, the phoenix also appears in:

  • Jewish mythology as Milcham,
  • Hindu mythology as Garuda,
  • Native American mythology as Thunderbird,
  • Chinese mythology, the phoenix is known as Fenghuang
  • and Slavic mythology as Firebird.

In Greek mythology, the phoenix was a bird that lived for hundreds of years before dying in a burst of flames. From its ashes, a new phoenix would. It obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor, making it a powerful symbol of rebirth, renewal, transformation and resilience.

In Chinese it is often depicted alongside the dragon. The Fenghuang is believed to be a symbol of good luck and prosperity, and it is often associated with the Empress. It is also associated with the sun.
