The Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA), as the non-credit training partner of John Tyler and Reynolds Community Colleges, works with private and government human resource and training managers in the Greater Richmond region of Virginia to train incumbent employees and job seekers in several industries. We also work with local and federal government partners to custom-design and facilitate training sessions. We send approximately 30 custom emails per year to a large contact audience that includes many of our government partners. Our social media connections also include many government employees.

I believe the CCWA audience of government clients, among others could benefit from a mobile app with push notifications (announcing new courses, closures and events) and some live stream capabilities to showcase real-time courses. We also need a platform to field questions, concerns and a registration tool.

My questions for the evening include:

  • Where do you begin in the development of a social media policy/plan where the oversight and updates can be shared by several staffers?
  • What is the best way to approach your messaging for government contacts? How do you gauge the level of transparency when there are often limitations on communication with this segment?
