14 Milwaukee Parks Celebrating the Fourth of July

Wondering where all the fireworks will take place in Milwaukee? Well wonder no more! We have the scoop on the Fourth of July activities at 14 nearby parks.

1. Alcott Park, 3751 S. 97th St., July 4

The parade starts at 9:45 a.m. and is followed by a flag raising ceremony and ice cream. There will be fun, family-friendly activities including a doll buggy, stroller, bike & trike, and coaster wagon competition. The ground display of fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

2. Enderis Playfield, 2978 N. 72nd St., July 4

At 8:30 a.m. the Cooper Park parade will depart from 81stSt. School and the Enderis Park parade will leave from the Mother of Good Counsel Church. At 10:45 the parade winners will receive their trophies. After the flag raising ceremony at 9:15 a.m., various contests will take place, including the World Famous Watermelon Eating contest and Water Balloon contest. The activities will end at noon with the Milwaukee Fire Department’s water canon display.

3. Gordon Park, 2828 N. Humboldt Blvd., July 4

At 11 a.m. the parades from St. Mary’s Casimir & St. Mary’s will arrive at Gordan Park. Between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. performances will take place alongside family-friendly activities. At 9:15 p.m. the fireworks will start.

4. Humboldt Park, 3000 S. Howell Ave., July 4

The many free, family-fun events will start at 9 a.m. with the S. Kinnickinnic Ave. & E. Linus St. parade. You wouldn’t want to miss out on the Donut & Donut Hole Eating contest at 12:15 p.m. The posting of colors and the National Anthem will kickstart the award ceremony at 7 p.m., which is followed by the Kids from Wisconsin concert. At 9:15 p.m. the fireworks will be launched.

5. Jackson Park, 3500 W. Forest Home Ave., July 4

This park’s parade will start at 8:30 a.m. and will have activities for the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. At 9:15 p.m. the fireworks show will begin.

6. Dr. M. L. King, Jr. Park, 1531 W. Vliet St., July 4

These family events will start at 11:30 a.m. and include a picnic at noon. It will conclude at 1 p.m. with the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center talent contest.

7. Lake Park, 3233 E. Kenwood Blvd., July 4

Starting at the Hartford Avenue School at 9 a.m. the parade will make its way to Lake Park. At 9:30 a.m. ice cream will kick-off the activities of the park. You can play games, enter a raffle and participate in competitions. Before the fireworks at 9:15 p.m. there will be music by the lakefront.

8. Lincoln Park, 1301 W. Hampton Ave., July 4

You can watch the fireworks at 9:15 p.m. from this location.

9. Mitchell Park, 2600 W. Pierce St., July 4

The school parade will start at 9 a.m. and the flag will be raised in front of the domes at 10 a.m. Prepare to feast on pie with the Pie Eating contest at 11 a.m. and relax to music at the center of the park at 6 p.m. The ground display of fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m.

10. Noyes Park, 8235 W. Good Hope Rd., July 4

Bright and early at 9 a.m., the parade and flag raising ceremony start at this park. After, there will be a bike decorating contest with awards presented at 11:45 a.m. You can watch the fireworks light up the sky at 9:15 p.m.

11. Sherman Park, 3000 N. Sherman Blvd., July 4

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. with the Fourth of July ceremony starting at 11 a.m. Don’t forget to decorate your bike or trike because there is a contest!

12. Washington Park, N. 40thSt. & W. Galena St., July 4

By the pool, the flag will be raised at 11 a.m. with games to follow at 1 p.m. Stick around for the firework display at 9:15 p.m.

13. Wilson Park, 1601 W. Howard Ave., July 4

After the parade and flag raising ceremony at 9 a.m. the Milwaukee Flyers will perform. Also, there will be arts and crafts and various games. You can see the fireworks dazzle at 9:15 p.m.

14. Veteran’s Park, 1010 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr., July 3

Famously, the city of Milwaukee’s 2019 Independence Day Fireworks show will be July 3at 9:15 p.m. It will last 45 minutes and launch from two barges in Lake Michigan, thanks to the Milwaukee Brewers, American Family Insurance and T&M Partners.
