As one of the most diverse schools in the UW system, we would like to take a moment and celebrate Black History Month on campus! Here is a list of all the events happening during the month of February!
February 5
Black & Abroad: Black Panthers Go Global
Bolton 176, 3:30-5 p.m.
The Black Cultural Center hosts a Meet & Greet with African American students who have studied abroad. Come hear about their experience and speak with the Center for International Education about study abroad opportunities for you!
February 6
Stars, Stories, and Rhythms of Africa
UWM Manfred Olson Planetarium, 6-9:30 p.m.
This live presentation explores African culture through storytelling, dance, and music, all while you are underneath the stars!
February 7
Coming to America
Union Cinema, 6-8 p.m.
This film is about a pampered African Prince in New York, who goes undercover to find a wife. It is apart of the American Film Series by the Sociocultural Programming.

Jazz and the Civil Rights Movement

Galen Abdur-Razzaq presents “History of Jazz” and discusses various jazz artists and their influence on the jazz scene.
