Winter in Milwaukee
Temperatures may be dropping and snow is on the way, but Milwaukee still offers a lot to do! We have put together a list of safe winter activities perfect for exploring winter days in our city!
Visit downtown Milwaukee’s outdoor skating rink at Red Arrow Park. Don’t have skates? No worries, skate rentals are available in the warming house. Reserve your 90-minute time slot online and don’t forget to bring your mask.
The 22nd annual Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival has kicked off and will run through January 1. Cathedral Square Park, Pere Marquette Park, and Zeidler Union Square are all lighting up the city. The festival is “snowcially-distanced” and offers free, self-guided audio tours on the iHeartRadio app.
Lakefront Colectivo & Sledding
Grab a group of friends, head to La Fayette Hill, and sled the day away! Sleds are available to rent from the Outdoor Pursuits office in the Klotsche Center. Afterwards, warm up with a cup of hot cocoa at the Lakefront Colectivo located at the bottom of the hill.
Take in the holiday lights around the city during a horse drawn carriage ride throughout downtown. Due to COVID-19, riders are responsible for bringing their own blankets and masks are required.
Rent a holiday hut at Zolcalo’s Food Park and grab a bite to eat from one of the five food trucks. The huts are decorated festively and heated.
If you’re staying in Milwaukee this winter, we hope you get the chance to enjoy some of the fun activities our city has to offer. Have other must-do winter activities on your list? Let us know your favorites!
