Design our logo, win some books

All right, this has been allowed to go on for too long now. We’re tired of the cringing, the wincing and the general malaise. It’s got to end, now.

UX Book Club needs a new logo!

Yes, that’s actually our logo.

Our logo is in desperate need of a shake up. Check that, actually, since that statement assumes we already have a logo. The truth is, the current image we use on our Twitter handle was thrown together about 5 minutes after we decided to launch this club and about 5 minutes before we went live. There really wasn’t much thought or effort (or time!) behind it. We always banked on doing it right when the time was right. And that brings us to today.

The winner takes all…of our books for the rest of 2016

If you’re up for a little design challenge and you like books, we hope you’ll take us up on this offer. Simply submit an original logo design for UX Book Club KW and, if yours is chosen, you’ll get a copy of each of the books we discuss in 2016 — free! So far we’ve read Rise of the DEO, and there are at least 3 more to come.

A little about us

Given that logos derive their meaning from the quality of the thing it symbolizes, here’s a little more about us.

  • Our philosophy is simple: a (UX-ish) book, a discussion, a community, and a nibble.
  • We are passionate about the UX craft.
  • We prefer intimate over immense, coffee shop over conference hall.
  • We are proudly rooted in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Submit by March 11, 2016

Once you’ve got something to share, simple email it to uxbckw@gmail.com or tweet it to us at @uxbckw (we can always ask for larger files if yours is chosen). We’ll take submissions up to 11:59pm on March 11th.

We’re pumped to see what you come up with, and even more excited to be able to proudly wear something that you designed!

Thank you in advance (for saving us from the wincing!),
