1.0 Recap

Yesterday, I got to know what Design Thinking actually means, and I shared the 5 models of Design Thinking. I also pointed out some key terms associated with it and made illustrations on this topic. You can take a look at it.

2.0 Human Thinking Pattern

Today, I focused on human thinking patterns which is one of the behaviors that prevent us from innovative thinking (i.e thinking outside the box). These patterns are usually developed over time by continuously and repeatedly doing things thereby making one become a master in it.

Human Thinking Pattern involves having an organized set of information and thoughts, which makes it really difficult for us to see new ways of doing things.

It can cause us not to think differently about a problem we want to solve. Design thinking, meaning thinking outside the box, will allow us to think of innovative ways of solving a problem and breaking free from these patterns of thinking we are used to.

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. — Albert Einstein

A way to look at design thinking is “Rewiring Thought Patterns: Revisit Old Problems from a New Angle”

Task to self: Think of a new approach in handling/solving what you do every day 🤔.

4.0 Conclusion

I learned that you shouldn’t jump into solving a problem because you already have a structured way of finding a solution. I need to question and challenge assumptions in order for me to uncover new ways of solving that particular problem.

The best way to learn is by asking questions and letting people know how you understand the topic. Feel free to leave a comment, we will definitely learn from it🙂.
