BubbleZEN: Concept Video
To create my BubbleZen concept video I used Adobe Spark as I have used it before to create a concept video for an old project called “Voyage: Through the Centuries”.
Without much knowledge of concept videos I used my old project to create a similar concept video. I made it more like an advertisement than talking about the concept of my project instead. This was a mistake I made however it is too late to amend the video as I found the article after I completed my concept video. However I do want to talk about how I could improve my concept video on the bases of reading the Kickstarter guide and see what I could do next time on my next project.
In the Kickstarter guide it includes 6 points which are:
This shows that a concept video should be made before you make your project however I believed you would need to make it after the project. It should include who the creator is rather than just the project alone. How you are going to make it and why you are making this project.
The concept video I made includes a happy guitar instrumental as background music, this will allow viewers to be happy when watching the video. The music is at a medium volume and as it has a relaxing pace it shouldn’t overpower the video. I added animations from my first digital prototype as I wanted to show them the style of my website and inform them of what they can do when they visit my website. I added text saying “Pick your zen!” which shows my website is going to be interactive and I hoped this would excite my target audience.
In my concept video I added questions instead of facts to give off an intriguing response such as “Did you know everyone receives different results for the same search?”. I wanted users to feel shocked and come think of close people around them that do receive different results for searches such as their teachers, parents and siblings. I also included funny pictures so it adds humour and allows my younger target audience to feel engaged in the video.
As I mistakenly made my concept video after my project what I could do next time is to make it early on after I make a plan of what kind of project I am producing. I would also follow the 6 things that should be included in the Kickstarter guide and hopefully it would be a successful concept video.
