On June 30, 2015, Mr. Narendra Modi, honorable PM of India has announced the details about the Digital India program with great support from private sector. More on the details and news coverage about the program here:(http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/topic/Digital-India/news/)

With multiple new services announced and many more to follow, it was disappointing to see uncoordinated efforts both on the unusable websites and the social media these past few days. Here are a couple of examples from the Digital India Website: http://www.digitalindia.gov.in/

Can you find the navigation on this homepage?

Yes, there are is none. You could get to it on the inner pages, from a humburger icon next to the search bar.

Do you know when the Digital India Week is being celebrated?

  1. Click on the Digital India Week on home page

2. Read through a bunch of text here, no date, click on that link

3. Duh, when is the Digital India Week? Btw where is this hosted? http://diweek.cloudapp.net/diwdashboard/

Well, if you see the @_DigitalIndia twitter handle you do realize it is being celebrated this week ( I think June 30, 2015 — July 6, 2015)

After much frustrating navigating of government websites from one to the other, I have decided that for my 32nd birthday, I am going to spend 8 days(all my weekends) to put in some thoughts/wireframes/designs to make an attempt to solve this unusable puzzle called India E-Government.

I plan to post one article for each of the weekends in July 2015.

Thanks to @Myd who is getting me space at the wonderful Workbench Projects (@makewithWP) a makerspace and a co-working hub in a Metro Station in Bangalore, to work out of for the next 4 weekends.

As part of the first weekend, I plan to work on Digital Design Principles for #DigitalIndia.
