Demonstrate — A much needed update
I wrote about Demonstrate way back in Jan 2014, about why we built it in the first place — Quick prototypes to share your app ideas easily, zero coding.
They say a picture is a worth a thousand words, a working prototype is worth a hundred pictures? If you have an app idea how can you build it and share it easily with your audience? Demonstrate allows you to Add screens, add hotspots, select the gestures and transitions, link screens, play it full screen like a real app, share with others.
But it can be better, so here is the all new ‘Demonstrate’!
1. Capture via camera
The first version of Demonstrate allowed you to add images from the camera roll or screens from Dropbox. We want to make that even simpler in the new version. Now if you are scribbling something on paper or on the whiteboard, you can quickly take pictures, link them up and share it out.
2. Device independent
Have an idea? Just create a new project in Demonstrate without worrying about the device type or device size. If you create a project on an iPhone 6 Plus and someone opens it on an iPhone 5…your project will work perfectly with all the hotspots, gestures and transitions intact
3. Your content backed up
All your projects are backed up in your cloud based account. We have started with Dropbox — where all your projects will be stored. iCloud and Google Drive backups coming soon.
4. Gestures and Header / Footer Lock
In version 1 we had native transitions, in the updated version there is support for gestures as well along with the ability to lock the header and footer section of the screen. Works really well for scrolling screens and feed designs.
5. Download shared projects easily
You can now share links to your project on any medium (email, whatsapp, telegram, twitter, messages) and the project will open up in Demonstrate. You can even add links on your site (like we have shared sample projects on our website) and your audience can tap on it to get the project. Also they projects can be shared as editable or ‘play only’ projects.
The core idea still remains the same as we set it out in version 1
This was Version 1. We used it for our client meetings and for sharing our app ideas. After some positive feedback we realised this can be used in multiple arenas: Startups pitching their ideas, designers giving demos of their work, product managers showcasing app workflows and ideas to colleagues, IT companies sharing ideas with potential clients! And thus ‘Demonstrate’ came into existence.
This version’s aim was to go cleaner, simpler and add features which will make your app ideas stand out like real apps (with zero coding required). Demonstrate is available for download for FREE in the App store. Unlimited projects and screens for just $4.99 :) Give it a try?
