In the run up to the 10th anniversary edition of UX London, we’re taking a look back through the archives with our creator and curator in chief, Mr Andy Budd.

UX London 2015

Julie Zhuo from Facebook was somebody I’d wanted to have speak at our event for sometime. However it turns out that running design at one of the largest companies in the world brings certain time constraints. Thankfully, 2015 was our year to make it happen, and I’m glad we did. Julie is an amazingly inspiring design leader, and her talk at UX London 2015 helped plant the seed for our newest conference, Leading Design. Cecilia Weckstrom was another amazing design leader, from a small nordic company you’ve probably not heard of called ‘Lego’.

The UX London crowds, out in force!

2015 was also the year that Chris Noessel dressed as a Stormtrooper to promote ‘Designing for the Darkside’, which was his inspired sci-fi anti patterns workshop. The geeks in the audience went mad, and thronged him afterwards for selfies. A personal favourite of mine was Tom Coates talk on IoT and connected devices. His talks are always beautifully crafted and really make you think, so he’s one of my favourite speakers of all time.

Looking good, Chris!

That Stormtrooper outfit was a winner, right?
