Let’s try something new. Sometimes it’s okay to be candid and direct, right?

I created a product with a colleague, and we think product designers would find it very useful. Our product costs $32. I would like to convince you why it’s worth buying.

The link to our product is at the bottom of this article. I’m not sending you there yet because I want to set the stage first. At this point, you don’t owe me anything, so why expect you to visit our site now?

What is it?

Sketch Charts is a collection of charts, graphs, and visualizations designed for the Sketch design app. There are 73 unique chart types in two theme collections, Light and Dark, totaling 146 charts.

Both theme collections have the same exact charts, just styled to fit the light or dark aesthetic.

Here are some examples from our “Light Theme” collection:

Just 9 of 73 unique chart types.

Here are some examples from our “Dark Theme” collection:

Just 9 of 73 unique chart types.

Why pay when I can get charts for free elsewhere?

  • Size: This is the largest, single source of Sketch chart designs available on the Internet (that we’ve found).
  • Uniformity: Since the charts were designed together, they all match! When you design a dashboard with these charts, they will look like they belong together…because they do!
  • Resizable: Every chart was designed using Sketch’s resizing rules. Too wide? Make it skinnier, and the data will adjust without distortion.
  • Customizable: The charts are designed on top of a custom-designed charting style guide that uses layer styles, text styles, and symbols. From a single style sheet, you can simultaneously update the colors, fonts, axes, and visuals of every chart in the file! It’s pretty darn fast. Watch.
We intentionally chose ugly colors and fonts to make it obvious what was updating. We‘re sure yours will look better :)

What makes these charts worth $32?

Our target market is product designers. Most product designers bill clients between $60–100 per hour (a conservative assumption). A single chart designed from scratch can take anywhere from 10 minutes for a lightning fast designer, to 60 minutes for someone a little slower.

So in 30 minutes of working time, we believe the charts have already paid for themselves.

Instead of spending time aligning chart labels, grouping layers, and creating scatter plots, you could instead be spending your time picking the most appropriate chart for the data you’re presenting, customizing the visuals, and updating the data to match the story you’re trying to tell.

What do I get when I buy?

When you buy, specify the base font you want for your charts. It’s easy to change yourself, but we wanted to give you options anyway. Every purchase comes with:

  • Charts-Light.sketch (73 charts)
  • Charts-Dark.sketch (73 charts)
  • Font Files (except for the Typekit charts like Proxima Nova)

FAQ

Here are some common questions people ask before buying:

Are the charts tied to real data?
No, data must be entered manually. However, updating labels and Y-axis values doesn’t take more than a minute or two.

Do you use the charts in your designs?
Absolutely. More times than you can imagine.

Does changing the font mess up alignment?
It shouldn’t!

Are they really resizable without distortion?

Okay, I’m sold. Where can I buy them?
