The Sarasota Herald-Tribune investigative series “Bias on the Bench” identifies a problem in the legal system — a problem defined by inequality based on race. This series uses multiple charts, and they use them well.

Nearly all of the information they obtained is based on comparisons between two different factors: white and black, which helps show the discrepancies between the races when the same crime is committed. Throughout the series, they used column bar charts to accurately display how one race was treated in comparison to another. The charts are strategically placed throughout the stories and in places where they provide context.

There isn’t anything I would change.
