Benefits of User Experience

Today almost all websites, web applications, software, mobile design, and other systems are becoming more complex. Every technological breakthrough molds each of these medium into a whole new interactive experience. They are ever changing, and they only grow as the years come and go. But despite the technological evolution, the success of each of these still depends on how the users perceived them.

User experience design has adapted to all the evolution of systems including websites and mobile design but at the same time, it strives to give the users a one of a kind experience whenever the use the system.

What is User Experience?

User Experience, also UX, is actually the perception of a person when interfacing a system — it could be a website, software, mobile design or any other application. The response of the users are specified and analyzed when the users interact with computers.

Basically, those who work in the user experience assess and study how users feel about a specific system when it comes to usability, utility, performance, and value. The UX designers also look at some processes and sub-items within the system and evaluate them. Let’s take an e-commerce website, for example; the UX designers will see if the users find it easy to use web forms, navigate the website and purchase products and services. The process is noted and analyzed to create a more user-friendly system for an efficient and satisfactory response.

The system is new and innovative compared to many others. Primarily, the user centered design process is concentrated to the idea that design decisions must be based on the wants and needs of every user.

Benefits of User Experience

User experience has been very beneficial to different system in this computer age. The design process helps in avoiding several mistakes commonly made by different programs. These mistakes include; poor project management; unorganized development practices; inaccurate estimates for resources; poor user feedback especially in communication; complexity of different processes; and, many others.

Here are some of the broader benefits of user experience:

Improve performance. The UX has a responsive design that allows users to work on the system the way they want to. It helps in reducing the number of user errors made as the users decide on how the system should work. This means increase of work, which results to increase of learning as well.

Increase traffic. User experience can boost your audience or site visitor size. Since it gives the users the capacity to experience the system, website or web applications on their own, you will be able to retain users and increase the number of visitor’s loyalty. Also, it can enhance the number of unique visitors especially if the loyal users start talking about your website. You might easily be crawled by search engines when you start to building traffic, which means more traffic can be gained from search.

Enhance credibility. Credibility is an important value when it comes to software, mobile design and websites. You may enjoy a boost in your credibility with user experience when you see increase in website referrals. And since the website is user-friendly, it may enhance users’ satisfaction and trust in your system.

Lessen resource burden. If you want to save resources, the user centered design process may help you in many ways. It reduces development cost since you do not need to develop and redevelop every once in a while. All you need to have is the UX in your system and it everything now depends on your users. It also saves time and effort that way. Also, the maintenance cost is a lot lower that having a well-designed and well-established design process. Support cause will also be lessened as training needed is reduced. Documentation is a lot easier in the user centered design process saving time, effort, and money.

Boost Sales. User experience can increase purchases and transactions especially if you are selling products and service. An increase in the product sales can eventually grow even higher. Using the UX, you can earn more while spending less.

Once handled well, the user experience can bring great benefits to your systems. Learn more about this innovation and get more from it. With dedication and proper management, you will surely reap the sweetest fruits of your labor.
