Find What You Love.

Designed an app for users who want to discover their Passion in life by differentiating between what they love vs what they like.

Why this app ❔ 😉

To land in the field that I love , I’ve gone through a lot of iterations :

I liked these fields but for a considerable amount of time , I forced myself into believing that I loved these fields 😭( and I’m not the only one).

So this was a great opportunity for me to explore this problem statement in detail & solve it finally (at least try to do so 😅) .

📄 User Stories

“ Every time I try something new I like sharing it online with my friends & family. ”

— — — — — — — — — —

My Feed section is crafted in a way so that user can share their day to day performance & also stay updated in Notification Section 🙌

“ I do complete my sessions but they are not consistent with the timings & hence my results are not what I expect. ”

— — — — — — — — — —

Elapsed time popup comes with fixed timing that makes sure you finish your session in specified timing😏

“I need a plan that works best for me & fits into my schedule. “

— — — — — — — — — —

‘ Make a Plan ‘ section will do exactly the same wherein user can create a customizable plan😉

Challenge 💯

To Design an experience where User gets to clearly
differentiate between ‘What he loves’ vs ‘What he likes’.

How this idea came up ❔

  • We at NIT Jalandhar have our own ‘Design Club Eleven’.
  • 10 Day Challenge is actually part of our parent project ‘METAL’ that’s regarding Mental Health.
  • A team of 11 Designers(hence the name of Club 😇) worked on this concept for over a month(post March COVID 19 lockdown was imposed).

How we did it ❔

User Interviews

  • This was done individually by all the members as the plan was to discuss all of our data & observations with team in evening after our classes.
  • We recorded audio(with interviewees permission) & also documented our findings in excel sheets (without mentioning their names).

Group Discussions

  • We used to assemble almost daily post our classes & discussions were carried out with the team.
  • Everyone noted down each others viewpoints onto paper or even audio files.
  • Lots of patterns came out of these discussions.
Group Discussions where everyone shared their ideas & findings with the team members

Problem Statement Exploration

The Process
With no categories in our mind we were looking for them in these cutouts

Affinity Mapping Session

  • Excel sheet cutouts came real handy as this was something new & exciting.
  • We were using contrasting cutouts & then we tried to sum up those cutouts with amazing 1 liners.
  • Some of the amazing 1 liners were like : “ Bologe toh sunenge ,sunenge toh samjhenge “ , “ Khud ko janke dekho “ & many more.

Exploring My Idea 🙌

Post Ideation Step , all of us worked on our own separate ideas & I chose Solo Date concept & crafted an end to end product with the concept.

Sketches 📝

2–3 quick sketches for each screen

Color Palette 🎨

Typography ✏️

Hi -fidelity prototypes 📱

Adobe XD + Adobe Photoshop + Adobe Illustrator + Adobe After Effects + Figma

Onboarding Screens

Familiarizing user with the our platform 😇

➕ Pick any Challenge

➕ Make a Plan for it

➕ Track your progress

➕ Share your progress

Login Screens

Pick a Challenge Screen

How it works ?

➕ User scans for his field in Most Popular category

If he finds it , good

➕ If he doesn’t then he can use Search Functionality that helps him out 🙌

Make a Plan Screen

We as humans :

➕ Want autonomy

Everyone has their own schedule 😏

➕ We want to do things our own way, if given the chance to do so.

Plan Details Screen

➕ This list 📄 is displayed to user before they wish to do their drills.

They are not required to memorize it though😏

➕ Option to edit the plan is not there as once plan is made, it’s important that user follows it in it’s original form.

Timer Screens

Chronology :

➕ You see the list of drills

You agree to start timer 🕘

➕ You do the drill

➕ You see the final outcome ✌

Sharing Progress

User can :

➕ Share their progress

➕ Others can share their views

➕ New Notifications are shown to user

➕ User can share / not share their journey depending on their preferences 👍

Profile Screens

User can :

➕ See their day wise progress chart

➕ See their achievements section wise

⚠️What can possibly go wrong ?

Worst Case Scenario — 1️⃣

I accidentally turned ON drill timer 🕘 on my OFF day

Why would would anyone do that ?

As human beings , we’re generally very curious .Which is good, but we don’t want our users to pay for it 🙇

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Why this is important ?

Once the timer is ON then we will record that data & it cannot be undone even if it’s done by mistake.

Worst Case Scenario — 2️⃣

User may want to receive call /message /e-mail / etc in between drills

Whitelist Feature

When can I ignore Whitelist feature ?

If you are a person who :

  • checks all important e-mails/messages in the morning everyday.
  • You talk to your loves ones frequently & can afford to take some time off for yourself when ever needed.
  • You handle things in a professional manner to take 3–4 hours me time everyday.

Worst Case Scenario — 3️⃣

User gets sick on day 5 😞 & needs some rest

‘We Care’ section working

Some reasons can be :

➕ You may be sick

➕ You may have taken weekend off

➕ You may be busy somewhere

➕ You may not know why

That’s what makes us human. And that’s completely normal 😃

Note : This is a dummy project made for non-commercial purpose to showcase in my UX design portfolio.
