For the past couple of days my thoughts keep going back to few unanswered questions - though they seems to be fairly simple like,

Why does the green colour correlate to calmness?

Why does the sounds of water bring peace?

Pleas note, here am not talking about the dripping water of tap at 2am that’s been waiting for the plumber; [ah I know lockdown #corona].

Here I would urge you not to read further but rather put your perspectives down for those two questions of mine [Why does the colour green and the sound of water have a soothing effect on us?], if you want to feel it before you think of your perspectives here is a link that triggered me this thought last night.

As a human being nope — as a living something we all need water and food to sustain and thrive.

We all ran to stock-up food, when the countries were calling for lockdown; not the house that we own, not the car we have, not the wardrobe full of dresses, nor the precious jewellery we pride made any sense; and why are we talking of this — it might sound like a topic shift, but wait.

After a long days walk for a nomad the sight of river and some fruit bearing tree would have given an heavenly feeling. He not going to starve tonight nor force himself to sleep to forget the hunger; but rather dose off to sleep after a content meal. Our basic needs are taken care off, and assured there is food nearby. We are tuned in such a way when we see water and greenery we associate that with abundance or fertility this is ever since we were nomads. The sight of water and greenery have always been welcoming ever since we were nomads turned farmers to city dwellers deprived of water (if you live in a metro like Chennai).

This could be one inference that my tiny brain could conjure up. Now it’s up to you to provide a better justification as why sound of water and sight of greenery brings an untold eerie calmness… its coded in my DNA 🧬 and my brain takes command from that to become calm.
