Future of work: flexibility and hybrid offices to "welcome staff"

Last week, I was talking to a director of a famous agency and he told me “the pandemic accelerated what we were already planning, today, the entire team is 100% remote, and we have kept some offices that have been remodeled to accommodate any needs of our staff, whether to have a meeting with clients or to find other co-workers”.

Many companies are still struggling to face and accept the inevitable: the ways of working can no longer be the same, it is necessary to rethink, replan and adapt. These companies can continue burning out and losing their employees or be inspired by companies that are already making a move towards this future that is already so present.

Linkedin is one of these companies: they have remodeled their office in Silicon Valley to make sure they could accommodate their new needs and a hybrid model, with full flexibility, where the employee chooses what is best for them to perform. “Linkedin approach is that we are leading with trust. The idea is that we trust our employees to make the decision that’s gonna be best for them and their team”, explained Lisa Britz, Head of Workspace Design at Linkedin.

There is still a lot of experimentation going on and even companies like Linkedin are still trying to understand what the best formats and models are. But most importantly, these companies are looking for solutions, watching and really listening to their employees with a focus on the future of work.
