Hire from Alumni Networks

Being in Talent acquisition, finding people suiting your job description is quite an achievement. We go through multiple sources and screening procedures to find one right candidate. While we complete the entire recruitment process and if the selected candidate rejects the offer or switches in a short period of time, it results in double efforts. All we need is to find qualified, enduring candidates to fill into our job vacancies with minimum screening required.

Alumni networks are the unexplored channels to find the right candidates that meet the hiring needs of almost every company there is. They act as the perfect platforms for networking, and branding but also have most of the benefits that any other source doesn’t have. Let’s look at some below -

Passive is positive — Alumni networks majorly have Passive Job seekers who have a positive employment record and since they are content in their work, they are valuable assets to their current employers. Their lack of urgency for a new job means they are less likely to be interviewing with other companies, which means less competition for the company. It is also unlikely that they will lie or stretch the truth about their skills on their resumes; they don’t feel like they need to because you reached out to them first.

Passive candidates are more satisfied with their current roles than active candidates, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t open to better opportunities. They know their priorities right and make the decision that they will stick to for a long period of time. If you’re hiring Passive candidates, it means you’re hiring Long rooted and quality candidates.

Referrals — Referrals are known for their quick, low cost, and effectiveness in hiring top candidates. Alumni Networks are a huge pool of candidates from many different domains. Even if the Alumni is not willing to change his job, he might know someone who is willing to take a better job. By tapping into one alumni network, we’re not just getting confined to that network but we’re exploring all the possible networks of the members present in the Alumni network, which makes your job vacancies have maximum reach.

According to a study conducted, In the United States, referrals account for 30 to 50 percent of all new employees. In fact, a candidate who is invited for an interview has a 40% higher probability of being recruited than other prospective employees.

Diversity Hiring — While diversity hiring and gender equality are getting prominent in companies, we are not sure where to find women who are ready to return to work. With members from diverse backgrounds, different age groups, and with a broad spectrum of skills, talents, and experiences, Alumni Networks are proven to serve the purpose. Be it looking for women returning to work or to improve gender equality at your workplace by hiring more women, this would be a handy source to look into. Ensure that diversity in hiring and gender equality are prioritized in your organization with this diverse candidate pool spread across various demographics.

With the new age shift in the workplace, the time has come when employers are chasing down employees and Alumni Networks serve as one of the best channels to hire quality candidates.
