Darkness and Light

a poem of grief and resolution

I wanted to take all the darkness
That grew in her like a plague
And siphon it into my own
To leave only her light

It wanted to let the new dark
Boil over
Reincarnate her
If my darkness could have brought back
Her light
Left a shallower scar in the world
I would’ve taken her…
