What’s hip, what’s not, and everything in between
It’s nearly mid-2024 and the blockchain asset class continues to push forward at such an exhilarating pace. The initial status quo of crypto as a playground for enthusiasts is rapidly shifting to one of utility and impact generation, staging a rethinking of all processes and ideologies in such a diverse and complicated world.
Thrown around in all types of use cases and possibilities, be it in sustainability, ReFi, DeFi, DePIN, DAOs, or in the recreation of value chains and trade finance, it’s easy to find oneself distracted from all the noise and niche-type applications that more times than not end up not changing the status quo or conducting positive change in day-to-day life, but instead only apply to those directly invested, both in time and/or in value — a speculator’s heaven.
The distractions become so strong that we often find ourselves in our own Metaverse, omniscient to what truly matters in our society, economy and environment.
Noise…
If we go back to scientistic analogy, noise is determined by a set of frequencies in constant change. We’re all beings of energy, each on their own frequency wavelength. The interconnection of what is all known to mankind can be seen as an interconnected field of frequencies, almost like an interoperable network of blockchains, each different but alike. The great visionaries and companies that supersede in the field of frequencies and manage to decipher between what is noise — static — and what truly matters are the ones most likely to become impact drivers.
We see Vagabond Solutions as an impact driver. We thrive on change, challenges and the precognition of a truly sustainable world.

Our Vision from birth
Our vision has always been clear: “Blockchain for Everyone.” We saw blockchain’s potential and aimed to make it accessible to all, especially SMEs. The goal was to simplify blockchain integration, providing no-code applications and industry-specific solutions.
Our objectives were quite straightforward:
- Accessibility: Simplify blockchain technology to break down barriers for businesses.
- Adaptability: Create a platform that fits various industries — automotive, real estate, e-commerce, and more.
- Security: Utilize multi-network approaches like BNB Smart Chain and XRP Ledger, and soon, Cardano — ensuring flexibility and security.
- Sustainability: Develop solutions that promote eco-friendly practices through blockchain’s transparency and immutability.
We envisioned a future where blockchain wasn’t just a niche product, but a practical, beneficial tool for everyday business operations. Our mission was to make this revolutionary technology straightforward, practical, and beneficial for everyone.
Did our Vision change in 2023?
Well, not quite. Back in mid-2022, we faced a pivotal decision: pursue a multi-network approach with the future planned introduction of Cardano into our ecosystem with a proposed VGC token, or build our own blockchain tailored specifically to our vision and requirements. We chose the latter, and well we did, giving birth to VagaChain, a 3rd Gen public blockchain developed using the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint consensus protocol.
This shift didn’t alter our core vision of “Blockchain for Everyone.” Instead, it reinforced our commitment to accessibility, adaptability, security, and sustainability. VagaChain quickly became our flagship blockchain technology, while XRPL and BNB Smart Chain continued to be an integral part of our ecosystem.
Throughout 2023, our focus sharpened on B2B services and applications, especially in areas such as sustainability, supply chain, and carbon emissions. We forged a major partnership in the renewables energy sector (to be announced), which helped further align our products and roadmap to ensure sustainability and profitability in active real business environments serving real customers.
Our B2B platform matured, our domain evolved into what it is today, vagabonds.cloud, and became home to what has been known as Vagabond V2 — a comprehensive backoffice for all Vagabond applications and services, such as the much acclaimed Vagabond Digital Product Passport (DPP).
2023 was also marked as the year of AI. Vagabond quickly prioritized incorporating our new VagaAI technology into all our solutions. This integration, which automates processes, enhances predictive analytics, and provides real-time reporting, monitoring, and management of real-world assets — has allowed us to further empower businesses to optimize their operations and achieve greater efficiency when leveraging the Vagabond platform.
Our vision remained steadfast, but our strategy evolved to meet new challenges and opportunities, staying true to our mission of making blockchain technology practical and beneficial for everyone.
Our Vision for 2024 and beyond
As we look ahead to 2024 and beyond, our vision remains rooted in making blockchain technology accessible, practical, and beneficial for everyone. We aim to deepen our engagement with SMEs, providing them with cutting-edge tools to leverage blockchain for their growth and sustainability.
Our goal is to offer an all-in-one hub of solutions that keeps businesses at the forefront of legislative requirements and provides a competitive advantage against those resistant to change.
Our focus will continue to be on expanding the capabilities of VagaChain, enhancing our B2B and B2C platform, and integrating more advanced VagaAI-driven solutions to further drive efficiency and innovation.
What to expect till the end of 2024
The rest of 2024 promises significant developments and achievements. Here are some key highlights to look forward to:
New Website and Platform
A major revamp of our website and B2C platform is underway. The new all-in-one hub will offer a more intuitive user experience, making it easier for users to navigate our product lineup and manage their personal profiles. While not all application modules and options will be available at launch, the following key VagaChain-based applications will be made available:
- New and enhanced VagaChain Block Explorer
- New VAGA Staking
- New VagaChain Validator Explorer
- The much-awaited VagaSwap Decentralized Exchange (DEX)

B2B Applications
We are continuously developing and refining our suite of applications to meet the evolving needs of our partners and customers. Key B2B applications like the Vagabond Digital Product Passport (DPP), CRM, and ERP continue to see major developments, underscoring our commitment to SMEs and large corporations.
Recently introduced to the public eye, Crypto Pager is currently undergoing a closed public beta. A set of 25 community members have been selected for testing, and the first impressions are overall positive. The Crypto Pager app will enable high security in one-way data transfer, a key component for Vagabond’s product lineup and services, such as Trade Finance. This application will useful for both B2B and B2C users.
Additionally, we are working on new applications and integrations that will leverage VagaAI to provide more intuitive and automated solutions for business operations, potentially also appearing in the next set of updates for VagaWallet, our Web3 wallet.
VagaChain Blockchain
VagaChain is the heart of our ecosystem. We plan to introduce several upgrades to the blockchain protocol to improve its performance, security, and scalability. These planned upgrades for Q3 and Q4 will ensure that VagaChain continues to support our growing suite of applications and the increasing demands of our users. We expect the use of some applications to excel a throughput of over 4 Billion transactions per annum.
VagaSwap — Public Launch on December 5th, 2024
Mark your calendars for December 5th, 2024, as we launch VagaSwap DEX on the 2nd anniversary of VagaChain! This milestone will also mark the public debut of trading for the VAGA coin, the native asset of the VagaChain blockchain. VagaSwap will provide a secure, decentralized platform for exchanging a wide range of digital assets, starting with VAGA/USDT (BEP-20) pairing, underpinned by the robust technology of VagaChain.
VagaSwap Beta — Planned to Commence on August 20th, 2024
Yes, you heard it right! We will offer an opportunity for the community to test the new DEX before its official launch on December 5th this year, replacing our previous plans for the Beta.
A closed group of Beta testers will be able to use the new VagaWallet v2.0 Beta with VagaChain Testnet, conduct swaps, utilize VAGA Testnet Faucet, and provide liquidity on VagaSwap. Participants will be encouraged to engage with the team by providing insights, suggestions, and bug reports, helping us prepare for a successful launch in December.

VAGA Airdrop — Last day to claim November 30th, 2024
The last day for VAGA Airdrop participants to claim their coins is set for November 30th, 2024, at 22:00 GMT. Any airdrop claims requested after this date will not be fulfilled.
If you have already contacted the team and provided your details, or waiting for a follow up of your support request, rest assured will be processed by the team in Q3. Our Admins will follow up with you asap.
If you haven’t yet tried to claim your VAGA coins or contacted the team, please do so by reaching out to our admin team on Telegram or Discord. Note that new requests will be manually processed by the team and may depend on the public release of the following:
- VagaWallet v2.0
- New Website with the Vagabond Platform (back office)

VagaWallet v2.0 — TBA
The upcoming version of VagaWallet will be rebranded as v2.0, moving beyond a simple update with significant changes under the hood. The new version will enable seamless use and interaction with VagaSwap and prepare for the integration of new vApps — Vagabond Applications.
Beyond also the usual background fixes and performance improvements, we have focused on enhancing wallet security, ensuring a safe experience when swapping assets on VagaSwap.
The new VagaWallet is scheduled for a closed Beta release this summer, alongside VagaSwap Beta, on August 20th, 2024. The official final public release for both iOS/Android will be announced shortly after the Beta program.

Vagabond Podcast — June 28th, 2024
We will host our very first live podcast on June 28th, 2024. This event will provide an opportunity to hear from our leaders about Vagabond, market trends, and more, and to answer a variety of community questions with live interaction.

VAGA Foundation
The foundation will play an important role in supporting community-driven projects and initiatives that directly involve the VagaChain blockchain. More details on its mission and goals will be shared in the coming months.
Logo Competition
The logo competition is not forgotten, and the 100 VAGA final prize still awaits. As soon as VagaWallet v2.0 and the Vagabond V2 platform are publicly available, we will announce the public vote for the winning design that will become the face of the foundation. The voting process will be conducted using the new VagaWallet v2.0 and a webpage created by means of the Vagabond Platform e-commerce application module, showcasing both the VagaWallet and e-commerce capabilities of the platform.

Community
Our community remains a very important puzzle piece in our ecosystem. We are committed to fostering a vibrant, engaged community through regular updates, interactive events, and open communication channels.
Starting in Q3, we will introduce new initiatives to support community-driven projects and collaborations. Our podcast on June 28th will mark one of the first of these initiatives, with more to follow as we lead up to the launch of VagaSwap.
