vaguely feel like throwing a big orange ball on the roof and watching it roll off
When I get home from work and it’s nice out, we go outside and throw a big orange ball on the roof and watch it roll off.
The other day she was missing her teeball so we put the big orange ball on the tee and I hit it hard and it smacked into the shed.
My daughter laughed and laughed and laughed. She asked me to do it again, so I did.
Sometimes she’ll want to take an outside shower, which means I put my thumb on the water hose and spray the water in the air. She loves to run through the mist.
I remember when I had time to spend more time in the magazine section at the library. I remember reading a letter to the editor in Utne magazine about how it nice it was to do nothing and lay in the grass in the summer time.
My daughter likes to run barefoot. I don’t.
Today, we almost fed a carrot to the three rabbits that live around our house (I mean they naturally live here, they’re not our pets). We almost left the carrot on the front porch, but then couldn’t decide if ants would eat the carrot. We’re still not sure.
Yesterday my daughter looked at my wife and said, “Mama I love you just the way you are.”
My daughter is scared of the dark. She told me she was. I told her that with God she is never alone. I believe this.
