24 Hours Before Vainglory 2016 Worlds with TSM FlashX
This piece came together last minute as I wanted tocapture what goes through a competitors mind in Vainglory right before the biggest event of the year. So the tone of this article cuts right to the chase, and is very direct in its tone. Good luck to Team Solomid, and I hope you enjoy.
Less than 24 hours away from worlds. What’s going through your mind, and how do you feel, what do you expect of this weekend?
I’m focusing on what we can control. Murphy’s Law will occur. Expect the unexpected. Respect every team and every player. Always play at our level, never play down to another teams level.
I’m feeling confident. Not necessarily that we will win, but that we will do well. If I had to pick a winner and my life depended on it, it would be Phoenix Armada.
I expect many of the foreign teams to surprise the NA and Eu audience. Not only from their meta, but picks as well. I expect Phoenix Armada to end every game with a 5k+ gold lead and without needing Kraken.
Are there any heroes in the current patch 1.24 that you’re worried about being selected in draft?
I’m not worried about any hero(s) particularly…but if I had to choose some, Gwen and Petal are hard on my radar…the reason for that I cant tell you :P
How do you feel about the time you’ve put in with your team to get ready for this moment?
“Victory requires payment in advance.” — Bjergsen. We feel like we’ve paid our dues, and we definitely hope to reap the rewards.
What’s your prep looking like for taking the big stage? Any particular routines when you get up, songs to get you pumped up etc?
To prep I’m going to just treat it like any other event. Stay relaxed and just trust my teammates and the hard work we have put in to prepare
Right now the songs I have running a thousands miles on repeat are
- Dreams — Life of Dillon (lost kings remix)
- Stronger — Kanye West
- Cutting shapes — don diablo
- Beat of my drum — powers
My morning is going to be just like any morning. wake up at 8:30am, take my dog out for a walk and use the bathroom, take a shower, eat breakfast, then just play a few warmup games.
Lastly is there anything you wanna say to the fans, and competitors who are turning out this weekend?
Always a huge thank you for all the support through thick and thin. I have literally leaned towards fan support in preparing for Worlds to keep pushing myself further. We hope to not let anyone down. I just think a lot of people are discounting foreign talent.
