G.K. Chesterton, the famous writer, said that in addition to expressing gratitude to God before meals, he also offered similar expressions before concerts, before he opened a book, before walking and before he began to write. Why did he do that? Robert A. Emmons observed that Chesterton’s friends, consistently described him as ‘exuberant’ and ‘exhilarated’ by life.

Does gratitude become a more important value the more it is practiced? How many times a day do you feel and express gratitude? If you can use more & exuberance and exhilaration in your life, why not try Chesterton’s simple practice?
