Hi, I’m Vicky, and I’m a data scientist. I hate writing SQL — the syntax is weird, subqueries are so difficult to debug — it’s just frustrating.

So I started using Vanna. Vanna is an open source AI Python package that translates plain English into SQL. I was skeptical at first, but it works really well, even on complex datasets. With just plain ChatGPT, you’d get only 5% accuracy. But with Vanna? Over 80%!

The secret? Vanna uses Retrieval Augmented Generation to remember prior accurate queries and even trains an ML model specific to your dataset! So as long as you take time to train your model, it works really really well.

It’s completely open source and free, and works with Snowflake, Postgres, Redshift, and most other databases. Check it out at vanna.ai.
