So we’ve got a bunch of finance data, but we don’t want to wrestle with SQL to get answers. So we turn to Vanna, an AI business intelligence assistant. Let’s see how well it works …

First, we need to understand the data. Vanna, after all, can’t answer questions where it doesn’t have the data. We’ve got 13 tables, all listed below.

One of the more interesting tables is the Tickers table, with a whopping 209 columns! Let’s have a quick look at that —

Ok, now let’s see what questions have been asked previously —

“What are the biggest sectors by market cap?”

Here’s the SQL that Vanna came up with —

Looks good. Vanna ran the SQL and here are the results. Tech is the biggest at $16.6T in market cap, followed by Healthcare and Financial Services.

Finally, Vanna gives us a chart to visualize. Easy to see that Technology is by far the dominant sector in today’s market.

“which tech companies with a market cap over 10b have gone up the most in the last month”

Ok, next question. Let’s look for big tech companies that have gone up a lot. Here’s the SQL. It was able to convert “tech” to “Technology”.

And here are the companies —

With the chart —

“what are the cheapest stocks (by price to sales) in tech with a market cap of at least 20b and grew revenue in the last year”

Last question for today — a bit more complicated. Let’s find the cheapest stocks in healthcare by revenue multiple.

A smattering of ecommerce and consulting. I’m surprised to see Uber on the list, especially since it grew revenues by 49% YOY!

And here’s the scatter plot we got.
