GRAKN.AI Demo Debut @ Tech Hub Tuesdays

Tuesday night was our first public demo of GRAKN.AI! At that time, our name was still MindapsDB. Our founder, Haikal Pribadi, put on an admirable presentation, despite having fallen ill after his trip to the O’Reilly AI Conference in NYC last week.

This demo night was a good opportunity for us to test out a few things: 1) capture what our technology is capable of doing in 3 minutes and 2) learn to communicate to a mix of developers and non-developers in the room.

As a database/developer tool, it is quite a challenge to illustrate to non-devs (or even devs who are not necessarily backend developers) how using GRAKN.AI would allow people to easily create different types of applications like semantic search engines or recommendation systems.

Many in the room didn’t fully understand the product! But at least, a substantial amount of people liked the idea.
