Vault Infosec recently witnessed that lot of our customer’s wishes to know the mapping of on-premise controls to a cloud environment. Thus we decided to publish a series of blogs written based on cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

The series of Nutshells would include:
- Detailed explanation about the particular service
- Scenario spots of the service
- Practical implementation in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
- Security misconfigurations in each platform with its impact.
- Detailed comparison of the service in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud

Why so many businesses move to cloud?

It’s because cloud computing increases efficiency, helps improve cash flow and offers many more benefits, below are few highlights.

  1. Flexibility : Cloud service is ideal for businesses with growing or fluctuating bandwidth demands. If you need to scale up your server, you can do it in a matter of clicks.
  2. Easy maintenance : Service providers roll out regular software updates including security updates so you don’t have to worry about wasting time maintaining the system yourself.
  3. Reduce Cap-Ex : Cloud services cuts out the high cost of hardware. You simply “pay as you go” and enjoy a subscription-based model that’s kind to your cash flow.
  4. Mobility : With Cloud computing, if you’ve got an internet connection you can be at work. And with most serious cloud services offering mobile apps, you’re not restricted by which device you’ve got to hand.
  5. Increased Collaboration : When your teams can access, edit and share documents anytime, from anywhere, they’re able to do more together, and do it better. Cloud-based workflow and file sharing apps help them make updates in real time.
  6. Disaster Recovery : It is not always possible to escape incidents no matter how resilient your organisation is, especially in the aspect of disasters. Even though disaster couldn’t be avoided, it is always possible to increase the speed of recovery. Adopting cloud services and technologies can accelerate the recovery time tremendously thus saving the productivity, revenue and reputation of the organisation.
