We are a scrappy little startup solving an exciting but difficult problem. As a result, we are always looking for ways to optimize and conserve our resources. The demo video was produced entirely in house — it should be obvious to anyone who’s seen the video :-)

The final demo video is the result of splicing two videos that were recorded simultaneously as single long sequences. The portion on the left was shot using an iPhone, while the portion on the right is the output of a screen recorder. Please note that the iPhone video is not the same video stream that our computer vision system sees.

Since we are not the first ones to announce checkout-less stores, our primary focus of the video was to simply showcase our tech and highlight some of the difficult scenarios it’s able to handle. So we built a beta store in our office, shot the video using an iPhone, recorded the live order information using Quicktime’s screen recorder, and edited it (no cuts, only speed adjustments and captions) using Adobe Premiere.

Once we gather and analyze feedback on our first video, we hope to produce and share more videos.
