Designing is ultimately a social activity. We all design to share ideas, inspiration and convey some meaning with what we create. At Vectr we strongly believe in the freedom of creative expression — that is why we did our best not only to make our vector graphics editor intuitive and simple, but also built in powerful collaboration and social sharing features into Vectr.

There are various ways though how a regular Vectr user could share his projects with the world and collaborate with others. In this tutorial we are going to walk through all of them and see how easy it is designing and sharing your work in Vectr.

Sharing Unique Project URLs

Sharing project URL is the fast and most straightforward way to share your designs created in Vectr with anyone. You can share either a direct link to editable Vectr file, or to the ready for download image.

If you want to share the link to a downloadable image you should click on the export button and then copy the image URL. That’s it — you can send the link to anyone to freely download your Vectr image!

In fact, if you want to share just the editable version of a project you can always transform the URL you have just copied. All you need to do is to delete the size and format parameters of the link — and there you go!

Once your friends or colleagues open the editable version of the project they can copy it into their own account and edit it from there. We are working in Vectr on a powerful real-time collaboration engine which is going to allow users to edit projects simultaneously in the real time. Just imagine how powerful and fantastic it is going to be! Stay tuned for updates.

Sharing To Facebook And Twitter

Why copy and paste URLs though if you can share your designs with friends or followers in just one click? Vectr allows you to do that from the Export screen in just one click. You can share your designs to Facebook or Twitter now and we will surely be building more integrations with other social networks and platforms like Pinterest or Dribbble.

Printing

Do not forget about probably the most conventional and yet powerful way of showcasing your creations — printing them! Vectr produces SVG, PNG or JPEG images of a brilliant for printing quality as flyers, brochures, magazines or stickers.

Printing your designs has a couple of advantages:

  • You can distribute your work in unusual ways, for example if you want to promote something you have just designed you can always print your designs in the form of flyers or stickers.
  • Tangible designs looks different than web images: it is more realistic and people often perceive it as something more authentic and of a quality.
  • It is more memorable: designs that you print remain with you for longer and are more memorable.

No matter how you decide to share your designs — physically, via URL or social media — do not be shy and remember that creativity is always rewarded and valued! Maybe your next project could inspire someone else.
