Editing images in Vectr may be a bit different than what you’ve seen before. Each image in Vectr is actually a vector path with an image as its background. That means that you can always rotate and modify the image inside the vector path, which makes it simpler and more intuitive working with images in Vectr. Let’s see how it works.

See those two images below. The first one is the image imported in Vectr as a vector path with an image background.

The other one is the same vector path, in which we’ve changed the background to gradient.

Since each and every object in Vectr is a vector path, you can always change the background of it to image, gradient or color. That gives you a unique flexibility working with images and changing their shapes. In order to change the image background of a vector path you should double-click the image inside.

Then you are able to rotate, resize, and manipulate it inside the path. You can also change the path itself which is not going to affect the location of the image inside.

So why is it awesome and how can you use it?

Easily Change The Background

You shouldn’t worry now that you should manually crop the image first in order to make it fit to the background. No more layers sorting now. You can easily change the background of any vector path to the image and enjoy. If you don’t like the particular image, simply upload another one and it will fit towards the background automatically.

Rotate And Manipulate Your Image Backgrounds

In Vectr the image background shouldn’t fill the whole object. You can manipulate and rotate it as you like, which really comes in handy creating some creative designs like UI mockups or logotypes.
