On Monday 01.03.21, Veertly hosted yet another hybrid event on its platform. Organized by the BVMW (German Federal Association of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises), this was the second time the association hosted their hybrid event in Veertly.

Thousands of participants from all over Germany tuned into Veertly, in order to listen to an impressive lineup of speakers, such as top politicians and entrepreneurs from all sectors and regions. Topics were mostly focused on COVID 19 and its impact on the economy, businesses and the society.

Christian Linder, the Chairman of the Group of Free Democrats in the Bundestag reminded us that the economic and social consequences of the lockdown should not be forgotten and that the financial aid should flow quicker, without bureaucratical hardships. German Health Minister, Jens Spahn was still quite cautious when it came to the topic of Germany “opening up”. He mentioned that while there are advances being made when it comes to vaccinating, we should all still be cautious, and the opening of businesses must be made and thought through carefully. Similarly, the Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil further stressed that one had to keep in mind 3 main points when thinking about opening: infection events, international situation and vaccination progress.

Education was also a topic brought up during the event. With some schools still being closed in the country and some slowly opening, a partner in the education alliance of the BVMW, Jürgen Böhm, Federal Chairman of the Association of German Realschule Teachers, stressed the importance of providing the educators with immediate vaccinations, so that the rates of infections in schools go down. He also mentioned that a clear and comprehensive test strategy must be developed for all schools.

The attendees also had a chance to listen to the words of Christine Lagarde, the president of the European Central Bank. In her speech she drew the attention to the importance of the medium sized enterprises for they have led Germany through severe crisis.

Our team members were onsite in Berlin ensuring that the event ran smoothly. We were impressed by the production team (Ambion) and everyone involved in the process of creating the event. We would like to thank BVMW for choosing and trusting Veertly to host this incredible event. We have prepared a “behind the scenes” video for you, outlining some highlights of the event and showcasing what the production of a hybrid event looks like.
