As one of the very first Technical Consulting Interns in Veeva’s inaugural Internship Program in China, I’ve found my first couple of months quite substantial and delightful. Just within the first few weeks here, I was able to seek a lot of help and guidance from various people. I learned everything from the history and culture of Veeva from Savvy, the APAC CDP manager. Vicky, my manager, shared her knowledge about the Pharmaceutical industry. And with the guidance of the professional training team, I got familiar with Veeva’s Vault System. Within my first weeks, these individuals were critical players in helping me as I adapted to the new role and making me feel part of Veeva.

What does my day look like? I participate in different projects simultaneously and work with several fellows and customers from various places and countries. I participate in meetings and workshops to understand how experienced Project Managers cope with multiple business and customer situations. When I find myself coming to any problems throughout work, there are numerous ways to find a solution. Veeva has a platform called ‘Share’ which contains a robust library of resources on anything you would need to know or need help with at Veeva — it’s like the encyclopedia of Veeva. When I’d like to reach someone, I can find their contact information on OrgWiki. All the people at Veeva are very kind and willing to help. Communicating with them is like talking with your friends.

Every week, there is a new learning session for all APAC CDPers. Senior specialists from different departments share professional knowledge to help us understand how Veeva is operating and how the industry is developing. These sessions are in place to educate us and help us identify our career path at Veeva. During each session, everyone has a chance to present a particular topic. Anyone in the call is free to share their own opinions. Sometimes we’re separated into groups of 3–4 people to discuss. Usually, everyone is from a different country, but there is no language barrier. Everyone is encouraged to talk. Besides the session’s topic, we also chat about our lives outside of work and any exciting updates. The culture exchange, I believe, is one of the most exciting and influential parts of my work.

I feel fortunate to join China’s R&D Service team. Everyone on our team truly cares for one another and is constantly excelling in their work. We share the same goals to want to make our team better. When we approached the 2021 Veeva Break to celebrate the holidays, we got together for a team dinner to celebrate everyone’s challenging work achievements over the last year. It’s like getting together with family. We had fun and got to know each other even better.

My first few months at Veeva were different than any other intern experiences before. The culture and the people here are with humanistic care and abundant energy. I look forward to continuing my journey of learning, growing, and exciting work!
