When entering the job market for the first time, students tend to look at a particular industry or job description online and think, “This might be a good fit for me!” or “I don’t see myself in this field.” But how can a couple of bullet points truly summarize all of the nuances of a job? Applying for that first job can definitely be nerve-wracking.

I am here to tell you how the Analytics Services Associate (ASA) role at Veeva Crossix encompasses everything a college graduate should be looking for in a job, at least it was for me.

The Analytics Services Associate (ASA) role is part of the Analytics Development Program (ADP) at Veeva Crossix. ADP is a new grad development program intended to help build your skills (technical and non-technical) related to your position. Even if you come in with little to no experience, the program is built around training you individually to grow and understand the necessary product and expert knowledge needed to fulfill your role.

Being part of ADP has been a tremendous opportunity, and it is one that I do not take for granted. Not only are you partaking in rewarding work, but you also build a great support network with other individuals in your starting class.

You could expect that being remote can be challenging at times, especially when trying to branch out and make new connections. During my time in ADP, everyone has been willing to lend a hand which has made onboarding that much easier and exciting. I think this is serves as a true testament to the culture within Veeva Crossix.

What is extremely valuable about the ASA role is how much responsibility you are given right off the bat. After training, you jump right into your respective team, and you become an expert on your brand. The more time goes on, the more you can understand the goals and ideas spanning across the agency and client you are working with. The ASA position is a unique role that helps you grow tremendously and very quickly. It not only requires the skills of project management and teamwork, but you have a significant part in helping an agency make the best decisions with their media throughout a campaign. Being able to leverage our data platform to help build a story and provide insights is extremely important and what our clients rely on us to do.

However, one of the most significant aspects of the ASA role is being versatile in understanding client objectives while grasping onto different analytical capabilities. Although prior analytical experience is not required, having the knowledge and familiarity with statistical concepts is extremely important. This serves as one of our objectives in client services — to make sure the results we deliver to our clients are analytically sound. The ability to explain these concepts to an audience is essential and a skill that will always be developed through your time in ADP.

In the end, this is not a job that requires you to come out with a specific major. It is a job that is all about how dedicated you are to help the clients you are working with while always being eager to learn in this fast-paced industry. If you are a driven individual who is: willing to go the extra mile to make a difference, has an analytical mind, wants to grow professionally, and be part of a talented team, then the ASA role is perfect for you.
