7:15am

Our day starts fairly early, as we are endeavoring on an outdoor obstacle course in the jungle. After a quick workout, I eat the pre-cut mango (I know, so fancy) that I purchased from last night’s night market. Parts of it is bearable, but some of it is not. ฿50

12:30pm

Wow, what a morning! Our outdoor adventure has been a whirlwind of DIY zip lining, climbing, going through such fun and wild activities like riding a broom and walking along a suspension bridge high above the trees. There were four courses and after the first one, we had a scrumptious snack: a gelatinous treat filled with coconut and sugar wrapped in banana leaves. So good! During our third obstacle, the launching platform for the highest zip line was unreal—it looked like a pristine prehistoric scene from a movie. Once done, we were tired and hungry.

Lucky for us, lunch was provided! The food was great and one of our instructors confirmed our diet when we had arrived. We had spicy curry, tofu, stir fry veggies, and watermelon. Given the curry’s rich and tasteful broth, I threw the bland blocks of tofu to absorb some of that flavor. The meal was filling and nutritious, and especially compared to other people’s meals (fried chicken, eggs) I felt like the company made a real effort to offer us a delicious and healthy plant-based meal. Blessed! ฿0

2:30pm

Currently in bed after showering, blogging and eating Oreos, relishing in the beauty of this view, happy.

6:30pm

After taking a nice nap, we head to Ao Nang Beach where we watch the boats coming and going and the sun setting. We decide to go to Govinda’s Vegetarian Restaurant, which is a bright and modern -looking restaurant on the second floor of a bustling commercial corridor. Vegan items are clearly labeled (nice!) and most of the menu items are vegan. While there are Western and Thai items, it is clear that Indian food is the specialty. bæ and I order the vegan versions of our favorite pre-vegan dishes (kofta for him, soy chicken masala for me). Both are really delicious and creamy—mine is a slow-burn kind of spicy—and we consume voraciously with roti and naan. I was truly hoping for thick, fluffy naan but alas. Plus our drinks, virgin mojito and strawberry and watermelon smoothie, and it was a great meal all around. ฿800 (for two, including tip)

9:15pm

Restless and still early by vacation standards, bæ and I catch up with my parents. We are the on the prowl for sticky rice and mango, but after seeing pre-packaged ones, we go for smoothies instead. Passion fruit and mango for me, and we are done for the night! ฿70
