Thank you everyone for joining us on May 31st! — It was a blast!

We’re building this community from the ground up and the conversation we had around the table was incredibly helpful — Thanks All

Big shout out to Dana at The Coop, for providing such a comfortable space to host the event.

We had a diverse group representing Airline, Travel Company IT Operations, Hotel Operator IT Leadership, Group Tour Operations & Autonomous Public Transport.

Thanks to those who represented:

AAA Hop On Shuttle
Allegiant Air
Enfuego Marketing

We’ll see you next time at Vegas Travel & Hospitality Tech Meetup on June 27

Travel & Hospitality Tech: Whats the difference?

There is some cross over between Travel Tech and Hospitality Tech, and a lot of differences.

We loosely defined the 2 as:

Travel Tech: The focus is on the technology that serves the Traveler and the businesses/people that provide those technologies. Before, during and after the journey, for Research/Discovery, Planning, Pricing, Booking, Transportation and Travel Assistance activities.

Hospitality Tech: The focus is on the technology that serves the Guest and the businesses/people that provide those technologies when a guest is staying or visiting, attending, dining, patronizing or participating a service or facility while traveling.

I am sure this will change/evolve as we continue with the meetup.

Vegas: By The Numbers

We put up some statistics from end of year 2017 and discussed what each means to the technological challenges faced by Las Vegas businesses, as well as the opportunity for Travel & Hospitality Tech products to be “tested” in Las Vegas when compared to other cities.

42.2 Million visitors
24 Million Arrivals by Air
148K Room Inventory
86% Room Occupancy
48K NV/CA Border Crossing by Vehicles
391K Tourism Jobs
70K Technology Jobs for all sectors in Nevada.
