VegaWallet will be support Ethereum’s upcoming hard fork: Constantinople

At block 7,080,000 on January 16th, 2019 the Ethereum blockchain will issue a “hard fork” to a new chain. This move implements several new upgrades to modernize the technology behind this popular smart contract platform. The fork will also help with scalability of the Ethereum platform which is an important factor moving forward.

This upgrade includes five different code optimizations through EIPs. Each will be implemented at different times through the update over the course of the next few months. Each EIP (145,1014,1052,1234,1283) proposes a different solution to numerous problems or areas in need of adjustment for future progress.

The Constantinople update is a major upgrade on Ethereum’s roadmap and brings the platform one step closer to POS over POW.

VegaWallet will be supporting ETH through their upgrade and our users can expect to experience minimal problems during the fork itself and full support of the new chain in our wallet system afterwards. The VGW Token is built on ERC20 and we are in full support of the future of Ethereum as a whole and their goals towards decentralization.
