A mow-mentous occasion!

It was a momentous week on the farm, in more ways than one, but the front page news of the week is that our mower is back in action! After a long series of setbacks, I finally was able to repair it and get some mowing done yesterday for the first time since May. This means it’s go time! We’ll be hustling to pull drip, mow and disc, and get beds turned over for fall planting, all tasks that have been on hold because the mower was out of commission. While we are definitely behind on our planting dates, it’s been a huge morale boost for Jason and I this week to be making progress with it, and we’ll get caught up eventually!

The very first pomegranate harvest (EVER!) from the Veggielution orchard! You’ll find more of them at the Farm Stand over the next couple weeks.

Despite the warm weather this week, the season is definitely changing, and you’ll start seeing some cool weather crops returning to the Farm Stand within the next few weeks. Kale and lettuce will be making an appearance, and we’ll also be excited to share our first real bounty of pomegranates — a fall treat! As we enter a new month and new season, we are looking forward to our Community Harvest Celebration. Mark your calendars for October 21st, and check out all the fun stuff we’ll have going on at Veggielution that Saturday.
