This week really flew by, and the springtime transformation has continued on the farm. The orchard is in full bloom, and it shouldn’t be long before we start seeing beautiful wisteria flowers covering the green dome. This week the farm crew pressed on with more bed preparation in the South Plot, and transplanted a ton of beautiful beets (the first of the year). I also spent some time on the tractor mowing all our field edges and tractor paths, which had turned into a wild jungle of grass. Tomorrow we’ll be doing more transplanting, and potting up tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse.

Admiring the freshly mowed tractor paths on Wednesday, sending love to all the incredible women who spent their International Women’s Day in the fields — we grow your food!

Meanwhile, Claudia, Lee, and Yazmin — the Mayfair Grown Fellows you’ve come to know as the friendly faces at the Farm Stand — will be attending an interactive training with Emily about social media marketing. They’ll be learning about how to promote their businesses and get the most engagement from social media posts, and will practice their skills by creating some Facebook ads for the Farm Stand. If you haven’t stopped by recently, make sure to visit soon to say hi to Claudia, Lee, and Yazmin as they finish up their fellowship term. We’ll be welcoming a new cohort of Mayfair Grown Fellows before the end of the month!
