Summer is here, join us for a BBQ tomorrow!
With just 3 days to go, we are in the home stretch for the start of the Farm Box season, and the hot weather and accelerated pace in the fields proves it. This week two more of our summer interns got started on the farm, so we had a full crew and lots of hands to race through more bed prep, lots of tomato trellising, weeding, and the unveiling of the MidAcre after 7 months of rest under the tarp. With new interns coming on, we also said goodbye to Annie, who had her last day this week after graduating from San Jose State last Friday with a B.S. in Nutrition. We’ll miss her on the farm, but are sure we’ll see her stopping by this summer and we’re excited to see what’s next for her!
Tomorrow is First Saturday, and we hope you’ll join us for a cookout (Cocina style!) and lots of fun activities on the farm. In addition to the usual roster of yoga (taught by the incredible Jenn Smith), Cocina, Youth Garden activities, farm volunteering, Neighborhood Harvest, and Art in the Garden, there will also be live music at lunch time.
